Details Gate lodge, built in circa 1838 at the western entrance to Gurthrie Castle (NO55SE0049). It is depicted on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps as a T-plan lodge. The 2nd edition OS map shows a rectangular building to the east, which is no longer shown on current maps. It is a small single-storey Tudor-gothic ashlar lodge with a slate roof and a depressed pointed door and window recessions.
