Details Former corn mill and associated steading and cottages, in residential use. On the 1st edition OS map (circa 1846) it is shown as a group of five buildings. A long lade passes northwest under the railway and connects with the Lunan Water. By the 2nd edition OS map (circa 1888) there are two smaller sluice buildings to the west of the complex, and a small rectangular building at the centre of the complex shown on the 1st edition OS map has gone. The mill building is listed, and situated to the southwest of the complex. It was built in the 17th century, and rebuilt in 1756 and 1858, and is made up of two joined L-plan buildings. It is built on a slope, and has two- and three-storey elevations. It is constructed from rubble with a slate roof to the northwest section, and a corrugated-asbestos roof to the southeast section. There is also an external wheelhouse. There is an inset stone dated 1685, a corner stone with the inscription 'rebuilt 1756', and an apex stone inscribed 'rebuilt 1858'. A threshing mill was added in the second half of the 19th century. The mill workings are complete and in use. The building to the east of the mill is a listed cottage, possibly the miller's cottage, with a door lintel dated '17(8)1'. It is shown on the 1st edition OS map as L-plan building, but on the 2nd edition OS map the southeast wing has been removed, creating a rectangular building made up of various sections, both single- and two-storey. It is constructed of rubble with slate roofs, some piended and some gabled. There are two further cottages to the north. The western one being rectangular, with a two-storey three-bay main section, and a single-storey extension to the west. The eastern cottage is L-plan, with a central gabled porch on the south elevation. To the southeast is the site of a smaller mill (NO55SW0078), whose mill lade has the same origin as the mill lade for this mill.
