Details Remains of a knoll, called 'Court Hillock' or 'Coort Hill', suggested by the 19th century antiquary Jervise as the assembly for the baron's court. The Ordnance Name Book noted that the knoll was defaced by the building of Fernybank house, the east side remaining intact and tree-covered, and the south enclosed by a garden. The OS concluded, however, that there is no suggestion of artificiality.
