Cropmarks of two enclosures and possible souterrains recorded by the RCAHMS during aerial reconnaissance in 1981 and subsequently in 1994 and 1995. The first enclosure is oval and measures about 20 m x 9 m internally. It has a ditch of maximum width 4 m on its west half (NO 6060 3935). A series of possible souterrains are located 45 m to the south-southwest. In the same field, three sides of what may be a rectilinear pit-defined enclosure, 23 m by at least 10 m, is visible at circa NO 6055 3921, with a possible entrance in the centre of the northeast side. Indeterminate marks, many of them geological, have also been recorded in this area. Patches of rig and furrow cultivation intersect the cropmarks in this field and the fields adjacent to it. The settlement remains are probably part of an unenclosed settlement first recorded in 1979 (see NO63NW0003).
