Details Bleachworks still in use which is shown on the OS maps from the 1st edition onwards. The works is marked as Kelly Bleachfield and described as dealing with flax yarn. The works has a gasometer to the west and there are two substantial bleachfields, the northern one marked as a drying green and the southern one a bleaching green. This latter green has a crane marked by the railway line. The 2006 map shows that the main bleachworks building is still in use and that several of the smaller buildings, typical of such a complex, have been removed. The gasometer and crane have also been removed.
