Details Site of a harbour which was built at Arbroath in 1394 to the east of the present harbour and in front of the Old Shorehead. The pier extended in a southwest direction from the foot of the High Street at Danger Point. It was a wooden pier fixed in an embankment of large boulders, many of which remained in the line of the old pier till the formation of the new harbour in 1840. Extensive repairs were made to the old harbour in years 1609 and 1654. No further information. Nothing of the harbour was observed at this location visit during coastal zone assessment survey carried out by SCAPE between February and March 2009.
