Details Site of a spinning mill. It served as both corn and flax mill from 1808 to 1811 when Robertson and Souter built a spinning mill. Described by Hume as built in the 'early 19th century and later. A pleasing group of 1- and 2- storey rubble buildings, the oldest of which is probably a 2-storey, 4-bay range with 12 'weavers' windows' in the upper floor. Here the first experiments in Arbroath with the spinning of flax by steam power were made in 1808'. Now demolished and an industrial park built upon the site.
