Details Cropmarks of a sub-rectangular enclosure with possible entrance. Recorded by the RCAHMS during aerial reconnaissance in 1978 and subsequently in 1979 and 1988. Possible medieval settlement between the kirk and the Whauch Burn. In 1983 the Lunan Valley Project studied the field immediately east of the church. The crop was spring barley. The west and south were grass and pasture. The barley field produced a linear cropmark continuing the line of a ditch from the east wall of the kirkyard to the north and the road. The hillwash in the area masked any possible westwards turn. To the south, two small circular features, too small to be ring-ditches, but about the same dimensions as the kilns at Chapelton (NO65SW0060) were observed as well as an ambiguous rectangular mark.
