Details Remains of a raillway station, and signal box, depicted on the OS 2nd edition map which also shows a signal post, footbridge and weighing machine. It was opened (by the Aberdeen Rly) on 1 November 1849. The station closed to regular passenger traffic on 11 June 1956 although the line remains open as part of the Edinburgh to Aberdeen main line. The signal box is still in use. Hume described the station in 1974 as 'Formerly a two-platform through station. The down-platform building survives, a single-storey rubble building with a large glazed panel in the middle of the platform frontage'.
