Details The motor vessel PETERBOROUGH MERCHANT of London, under Captain H. Taylor bound from Clyde to Tyne with a cargo of 160 tons of zinc plate, was lost on the 8th February 1946 1/4 mile north of Montrose harbour entrance, inside Annat Bank, 1 mile from Montrose Ness Lighthouse. The crew of 5 were all saved. It was reported that she belonged to the Peterborough Shipping Company and was running for War Transport, and it was hoped that she would be saved. Not known if vessel was refloated.
