Details On the 19th October 1872, the JOHN AND JESSIE, a 6 year old lugger with a crew of 6 under Master and Owner J. Findlay, departed Montrose for fishing, in ballast. She foundered 0.5 miles S of Montrose harbour. Five of the crew were lost.
