Details A Royal Observer Corps underground monitoring post (ABE 55) lies to the south-west of the stone circle at Tomnaverie. It was opened in April 1960 and closed September 1991. Surface features still survive although in a dilapidated state, with four of the wooden ventilation shutters having been pulled off, this post is enclosed within a low barbed-wire fence. Two anchor points for a radio mast can be seen on each side of the installation, one of which on the north side retains its covering plate.
