Details Village of Rhynie, also known as Muir of Rhynie. It is a former market centre, and is shown on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps but was founded much earlier, It was erected a Burgh of Barony in 1684 and the oldest gravestone in the parish church dates to the 17th century. The buildings shown on the early OS maps survive and are in use.
