Hut circle and field system. The 'hut circle' at NJ59760300 on ground inspection may be a sheep stell, given its upstanding drystone wall and absence of levelling of interior. A sheepfold is depicted here on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. Field system inspection 26/10/87 showed that the knoll to the south of the track had been bulldozed/ cleared so that stone clearance heaps survive only in the northeast corner. However, system found to extend undamaged to north of the track, and are visible on Lidar coverage (NLS). Stone clearance heaps are relatively massive, the stell 8 m in diameter. Site visit 2023 noted possible cairns within the plantation centred circa NJ 59784 03150 and remains of cairns within the open area to the west centred NJ 59768 03098. Also noted were a large flat stone at NJ 59844 03096, though unclear if archaeological. and a large circular area of stones, possibly a cairn at NJ 59876 03132
