Farmstead, still in use, depicted on historic OS maps. The OS 1st edition shows two L-shaped ranges enclosing a court with two other buildings to the west and northwest, and a millpond and sluice to the south. By the time of the 2nd edition map the south end of the west range and the northwest building have been removed. Current OS maps indicate that the south end of the east wing of the steading is now ruinous. Late 18th century farmhouse, 2-storey 3-window harled with margins at front, and re-glazed. The gables are of squared rubble, harl-painted. A fragment of a carved stone arch with compass and incised details, possibly Medieval, was reported to Aberdeenshire Council Archaeology Services in June 2023, as having come from Fairlea Steading after driveway and renovation works. Carved stone location now at Marchmyres Cottage, Breda (NJ 54385 15672).
