Details Burgh and village of Clatt. The kirkton is located beside the Gadie Burn, the name deriving from 'cleith' for concealed. It was created a burgh of barony in 1501. A weekly fair on Tuesdays and the yearly fairs, which lasted eight days, bore the name of Moloch, the patron saint of the parish. At the time of the 1st edition OS map it comprised 36 roofed and four unroofed buildings. The 1st and 2nd edition maps also shows the market stance on the east side of the village.
