Gate lodge, still in use, built in the mid 19th century with additions after 1901. The building was originally L-plan, with the west jamb being added after 1901 to form a T-plan. It is a single-storey building constructed from Aberdeen-bond grey granite with stugged sandstone quoins and dressings at the earlier part, white ashlar quoins at the west addition and raised and stop-chamfered margins. There is an ashlar canted bay window at the east gable with a narrow attic opening above (now blocked). The slated roof has bracketted overhanging eaves, timber apex finials and an ashlar corniced ridge stack over the north jamb where the roof is at a lower level than the main block. The entrance is in the north-west re-entrant angle, possibly having originally been at the north-east. A variety of glazing patterns are used, with original eight-pane sash and case windows that have been part replaced by plate glass sashes. There are four gatepiers with gates, identical to those at West Lodge (NJ52NW0128).
