Details Parish church, built in 1815. It is rubble built and rectangular in plan, with slated roof and a plain interior with gallery. The belfry is dated 1635, but now too weathered to decipher but initialled 'I.F.L.' for John Forbes of Leslie and 'M.J.D.' for James Douglas, the minister. Contains a bell dated 1642. Each gable originally had a doorway, the east one being blocked up during re-ordering of the church in 1897 by A. Marshall Mackenzie. The Kirk of Leslie belonged to the Diocese of Aberdeen in 1275. No trace and no local knowledge of an earlier church in the vicinity except at Chapelton (NJ52SE0003). War memorial affixed to outer west elevation (NJ52SE0035). Within the churchyard is the Commonwealth war grave of Private George Benzie, Gordon Highlanders, who died 27 March 1917.
