Details Former hospital, now in use as a care home for the elderly. Designed by A. Marshall Mackenzie in 1901, it is a large Scots-perpendicular symmetrical composition with 3-storey centre block, with square battlemented porte-cochere tower, and a pair of 2-storey advance wings. Constructed of snecked granite with Auchindoir freestone dressings. Previous symmetrical group of hospital buildings by William Smith. Depicted on the OS 1st edition map in the same shape as it is today. On the 2nd edition it is also annotated as Almshouses. Alterations and additions in 1933-38 by George Bennett Mitchell.
