Details Remains of possibly three cairns. In 1975 Woodham found three stoney areas in the field, possibly associated with the findspots of three symbol-stones. Two of the stoney areas showed no identifiable features. The third was a square cairn of large water worn stones measuring circa 4.25m by 4.25m and over 0.5m high. Fragments of white quartzite found centrally represented the remains of a boulder. The water-rippled underlying sand showed no trace of features, and there was no dating evidence. The stoney areas were marked with iron bars laid flat before being covered back over.Geophysical survey in this area in 2012 (NJ54NW0110) found no evidence of the cairns. The remains probably relate to a Pictish barrow cemetery site.
