Details Railway station opened by the Great North of Scotland Railway in 1884 replacing the earlier station to the northeast (NJ56NE0015) when the line was extended west. Formerly a 2-platform through station with offices in a handsome single storey wooden building. There were two signal boxes, both opened in 1884. The north box closed in 1936, the south box in 1959, the station and line closing in 1968. It is single-storey, double cruciform in plan and weatherboarded. The long elevation facing the former line has paired projecting gables flanking a former canopied waiting area now infilled with weatherboarded cladding. There are plain bargeboards, slender wooden apex finials, slate roof and single coped masonry chimney. The station building is in use by the local scouts. The platforms have been landscaped.
