Small harbour, probably built in the mid 19th century, but incorporating earlier work. The harbour is enclosed by two curved rubble walls with later concrete facing. There is a high wall on seaward side of outer pier. A short rubble breakwater extends from a rocky outcrop at the east to protect harbour entrance. In 2005 a watching brief was carried out on works for upgrading of the waste water treatment plant at Sandend. A large area was excavated in the harbour area at NJ 5554 6649 to accommodate septic tanks, but no archaeological features or finds were recorded. Site visit in 2022 as part of the SCAPE Coastal Zone Assessment Survey
