Details Cottages, still in use, built in the mid 19th century with later additions and alterations. It is an irregular range, having formerly been three cottages linked to Number 1B (NJ56NE0142). The cottages are constructed from heavily pointed rubble, with contrasting painted long and short dressings. The irregular, four-bay, south elevation comprises Number 1D, with the irregular, three-bay, east-facing elevation forming the main front of Number 1C. There are three later 19th century canted dormers in the south front, and two at the east to Number 1C. The slate roofs have oped end and ridge stacks. Abutting number 1C is a vertical weatherboarded fish smoking kiln with a ridge louvre (NJ56NE0316).
