House, still in use, built in circa 1860 as one with Number 40-42 (NJ56NE0258), with circa 1900 additions. It is a two-storey and attic, wide three-bay house, constructed from coursed dark rubble with contrasting tooled sandstone dressings and margins. There is a wide corniced entrance at the centre, with a circa 1900 panelled door with narrow side lights and a decoratively carved lintel on console brackets. The south return gable has a single first-floor window. There are three circa 1900 pedimented slate-hung wallhead dormers, and corniced and panelled stacks to the slate roof, which has a pottery ridge.
