Details Dovecot constructed in three diminishing tiers, each tier capped with a rat course, which probably dates to the 16th Century. Constructed in random rubble, rendered, in a beehive-shape. Shallow domed roof pierced by central apex flight hole. Doorway in south face with simple ashlar jambs under relieving arch. Two small flight holes above 2nd rat course. Exterior circumference 19 m at base. Interior contains approximately 700 small, closely fitting stone nesting boxes, circa 15 cm by 15 cm, 36 cm deep, from floor to apex flight hole in diminishing layers. Loose central pivot stone for potence, a re-used stone with moulding on two sides, 43 cm by 63 cm by 15 cm thick. Restored by Banff and Buchan District Council in the 1990s.
