Former manse, depicted on historic OS maps, built in 1840, known as Manse of Midmar. The OS 1st edition shows an L-plan house with a long rectangular building to the west and garden to the southwest. Some additions have been made to the house to form a T-plan by the time of the 2nd edition map and a small building added on the south side of the long range. The range has since been removed and the small building shown as disused. The original part of the house is 2-storey, 3-window. It has a porch with round-arched doorpiece, panelled door and vertically paned fanlight. Windows have mullion and transom crosses. The northeast wing with canted window was added in 1861 designed by James Matthews. Rear has a 3-stage bowed stair to the centre of the original house, a single storey rear porch and service range. The property has a semi-circular coped rubble boundary wall. Photographic survey of the former potting shed was carried out in 2015.
