Details Site of railway viaduct built in 1857-9 for the Aboyne Extension Railway, by the engineer John Willet. It was a five span viaduct, with five segmental arches of rough granite with brick arch-rings and rubble spandrels and piers. It formerly carried the Ballater branch ('Royal Deeside line') of the Great North of Scotland Railway over the Beltie Burn. This was the last surviving relic of the old Deeside line, but was demolished by British Rail after the failure of a Trust to acquire sufficient funds to save it.
