Details Site of house, built in 1676 by Alexander Farquharson of Monaltrie, with extensions and additions by Sir Robert Lorimer in 1904. It was owned for many years by the Shaw family and was sold in 1938. After lying empty for a few years it was blown up with explosives in 1958. Now only quadrangular offices and walled garden survive. Possibly built on site of earlier manor. On the south side of the walled garden (within mapped extent of NJ60SW0039) the OS 2nd edition map shows a small rectangular building. No remains of this building could be seen during field visit December 2012.
