Details Mansion designed by Archibald Simpson, completed John Smith, 1815-21 and built on the site of an older mansion house called Putachie. It is a baronial mansion of Tudor-ish design with round arches, and a battlemented 4-storey circular southwest angle tower. It has a simple classical interior with distinctive detail and joinery including a square south staircase with coffered cove and dome and elliptical north staircase. To the west is a game larder (NJ61NW0094), and beyond that a walled garden with a sundial that has a square baluster with undated copper dial. The Forbes seat was originally at Druminnor (NJ52NW0013).
