Details Rig and furrow is visible on the north and east flanks of the hill. The rigs to the east are broad and run east-west. They are up to 7m in breadth and extend down the slope into a shelterbelt over a distance of at least 250m away from the east flank of the hill. The rigs to the north are narrower and run north-northwest to south-southeast. The rigs were recorded during a walkover survey carried out in 2005 in advance of the creation of a natural burial site. Cultivation was clearly happening on the lower slopes in the mid 18th-century and probably continued until the establishment of the enclosed plantation in the 19th-century. Such cultivation may have begun as early as the medieval period. It is of note that the pre-improvement cultivation respected and avoided the Neolithic stone circle it surrounds.
