Details Former coachhouse and stables of Netherdale House (NJ64NE0026), dating from the early 19th century, now known as Keepers Cottage. Shown on the OS 2nd edition map. Two-storey, 7-bay coachhouse, pended at the centre with stables to the left and the coachman's house to the right. Built of squared and coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. A depressed arched pend is in the advanced, pedimented bay, with a blind bulls-eye window to the pediment. The stable range is 3-bay to the left, with a central door, flanking windows and three small windows under the eaves at first floor. Inside is a droved floor and stall partitions at the ground level. Photographic recording was carried out in 2019 ahead of alterations. The coachman's house is 3-bay to the right, with a central door, flanking windows, with two windows at the first floor raised to piended dormerheads. The window to the outer right is now blocked. To the rear there are two dormerheads at the first floor. The windows are sash and case and predominantly a 12-pane glazing pattern. The graded grey slated roof has coped ashlar skews, an ashlar ridge and stacks. The garage is at right angles to the south, built circa 1930, shown on the OS 5th edition map. It consists of wooden garage workshops, porte cochere supported by wooden bracketed columns and large, sliding, half-glazed doors to the north and the west. The garage has overhanging eaves, timber Kingpost detail to the gablehead, a zinc roof and is constructed with inspection pits in the concrete floor inside.
