Remains of a recumbent stone circle, now visible as a large recumbent, two fallen flanking stones, a single fallen stone and the broken remains of at least two other stones. The stone circle is oval measuring circa 22 m by 20 m, with the recumbent and flankers in the south-southeast arc. The recumbent stone (the only stone in situ) is 2.35 m long and stands 1.85 m high and was originally larger; three large fragments which have broken off now lie at around the base of the stone. The flankers, which measure 2.1m and 2.25, are of different types of stone, the western of aplite-granite, the eastern of tuff. The remains of an internal cairn (noted by OS in 1973) survives in the interior of the circle, visible as a stony swelling on the southwest and a low scarp on the east. OS noted that the site was formerly known as 'Covenanters Preaching stones'.
