Site of Castle Panton, later the Crown Hotel. A 3-storey house with a shaped wall-head gable. Largely reconstructed in 1780, its nucleus which included vaulting, moulded openings and an interesting trefoiled archway may have been of 16th century date. In the late 18th century it was the townhouse of John Innes of Edingight, a Provost of Banff, who died there in 1790. In circa 1800 a north wing was added. Latterly used as a hotel. After a fire at the hotel in 1981 the building was demolished. Two sherds of medieval pottery were found in area during trial excavation in 1984 ahead of redevelopment of the site for flats.
