Details Former Free Church of Scotland built in 1844 by the architect James Raeburn. East entrance front with distyle in antis Greek Ionic pedimented portico surmounted by octagonal domed drum louvred belfry rising from stepped plinth. Harled with generous use of polished ashlar dressings and margins. It is 2-storey, 5-bay frontage (upper windows light gallery). There are three tall round-headed doorways with double-leaf doors below round-headed lights in set-back centre bays. Blind clock aperture in centre of pediment tympanum. Deep ashlar wallhead bandcourse and cornice. Shallow advanced wings, with three segmental-headed windows in ground and gallery floors. Plate glass and 4-pane glazing with long centre transoms mainly filled with simple coloured geometric glazing (1876). Still in use as a church, as part of the Antioch Movement. Single wooden pedimented dormer north and south (1876 or later). Slate roofs with facetted leaded roof to belfry. Single storey vestry additions at rear.
