House, still in use, built in the mid-19th century. It is a two-storey and attic, three-bay house, with a mixed random rubble frontage and painted ashlar dressings and margins. The principal elevation has a centre entrance, with a pilastered and consoled corniced doorpiece and panelled door. It has regular fenestration, with 12-pane timber sash and case glazing. There are late 19th century wallhead canted dormers in the outer bays, with four-pane glazing. The slate roof has flat skews and corniced end stacks. There is a pend entrance at the extreme south, with the gap between this house and number 11 Fife Street infilled with brick walling, almost to wallhead height. The rear garden is enclosed by rubble walls heightened with brick.
