Remains of a pre-improvement farmstead surviving mainly as a set of upstanding earthworks, specifically a sub-rectangular building and enclosure, the stone-lined remains of a limekiln, and two long linear banks. The building lies at the southwest end of the site and measures 18.5m northeast-southwest by 6m transversely with grass covered walls surviving up to 0.8m in thickness and 0.4m in height. Three compartments can be clearly traced, with the partition walls located 5m from either end. Around 3m to the south of the southwest end of the building is a small sub-rectangular structure that was probably a small enclosure. It measures 7m northwest-southeast by 6m transversely and survives as grass covered wall footings 1.5m thick by 0.3m high. The kiln has a stone-lined chamber which is exposed and is clearly visible, measuring 1.7m across. It lies 9m northwest of the building's southwest end on the crest of a small northeast-facing slope. The banks run parallel to each other aligned east-northeast to west-southwest at a distance of 8m apart. They stand 0.5m high and are 3m in width, with the northernmost being 55m long and the southern 30m long.
