Remains of a monument, erected in 1805 by Elyza Fraser of Castle Fraser, in memory of her friend and companion Miss Mary Bristow. It is situated in what is known as 'Miss Bristow's Wood' to the South of Castle Fraser, an area of woodland designed and laid out by Mary Bristow. The inscription on the monument reads: 'Sacred to the memory of a friendship which subsisted 40 years, Elyza Fraser erects this monument in the groves planted by her lamented friend.'.
