Farmstead still in use. On the 1st edition OS map, it is shown as comprising a U-plan steading, with the court open to the east and a horse-mill attached to the west and a smaller building, probably the farmhouse, to the east with at least two enclosures. By the 2nd edition OS map there are two small buildings to the south-east and ponds with mill dams are marked to the west. The horse-mill has been removed. The 5th edition OS map shows the U-plan steading has been added to and extended to form a large square plan building, with further buildings having been added to the west. The farmhouse has been also extended by this time. The 2005 map shows that the steading and the farmhouse are still in use and that the site of the ponds has been partially built over. Described in the Aberdeenshire OS Name Books, 1865-1871 volume 15 (OS1/1/15/58) as: 'A large farmsteading, dwelling-house and Offices one storey, slated, and in good repair. Property of Colonel Fraser, Castle Fraser, by Kemnay.'.
