House, still in use, built in 1723 for John Elphinstone, altered in 1889 and 1934. The original house, was a three-storey with attic, five window house, with chamfered openings, skewputs and capacious chimneys at the rear with deep moulded copes. The house was acquired in 1887 by the Royal Mental Hospital, Aberdeen, and altered in 1889 by Matthews and Mackenzie to form the nurses home of the adjacent County Lunatic Asylum (NJ72NW0058 - formerly the new House of Glack, built in 1876). The rear wing was added by G Bennet Mitchell in 1934. There are gatepiers to the north (NJ72NW0154), presumably of a contemporary 18th century date.
