Details Site of castle. It is depicted on the OS 1st edition map on which it is annotated as 'Remains of' and it appears to have had a courtyard in the centre. A rectangular pecked enclosure adjoins it on the south but whether this is the building mentioned by ONB as 'part of the wall on the north side' is not quite clear. Two other buildings are shown to the north. The 2nd edition OS map shows what appears to be a pair of cottages, the location annotated as the site of the castle. The site is now occupied by a farm cottage. OS site visit 1964 noted that no remains of the castle were seen at the site. At one time Dorlaithers ‘was an independent barony held from the Crown’.
