A number of other ring ditches are occasionally visible also. Five test pits dug in 2004 as part of a programme of investigation in the area (NJ81NW0198) for the Kintore Landscape Project recovered seven flint artefacts, which appear to be part of a background level of Neolithic and Bronze Age activity (although a concentration of probably Mesolthic flints was found in the field to the west (NJ81NW0031).
