As depicted on the OS 1st edition map the village included two schools (one an endowed girls' school), smithy (NJ81NW0033) and remains of the tolbooth (NJ81NW0047). To the north are the church (NJ81NW0104), manse (NJ81NW0106) and remains of an earlier church (NJ81NW0058).
