A watch-tower stands in the churchyard of the former Banchory-Devenick parish church (NJ90SW0044), built close to the south wall of the churchyard. There is a window in the north side, from which watchers could overlook the churchyard. It is small, oblong, single-storeyed with a harl and slate finish. Dates to early 19th Century. An iron mort-safe lies nearby. Three war memorials (two of World War I) formerly in the church have been affixed to the outside wall of the watch-house.
