Remains of a brick and tile works, depicted on historic OS maps and operating from before 1860 to 1980. The complex included a range of four circular kilns enclosed in a 2-storey building with three circular section iron bound chimneys. The floors above the kilns were used for drying the green pipes after extrusion, as are pantile and asbestos-roofed single-storey drying sheds. The pug mill and extrusion plant, conveyors and other machinery are driven by a 2-cylinder horizontal diesel engine, size 8, class HR 6, Works No 351331. There is a circa 2 ft gauge (0.6m) cable-worked railway in two sections linking the works with the clay pits. After closure most of the brickworks was demolished but one large brick-built building and a tall chimney remained in 1997.
