Details Hill figure of a stag made out of quartz stones occupies the South East face of Mormond Hill. It is recorded as having been cut by Mr F. W. Cordiner of Cortes Estate, near Fraserburgh, to commemorate the laird's wedding in 1870. The stag used locally quarried white quartz set into trenches cut into the turf. The stag has been cleaned several times during the 20th century including in 1955, 1984 and 1994-5, and the most recent clearance was completed in 2023.
