Details The schooner ROYAL EAGLE, with a crew of 5 under Captain D. Lewis, carrying a cargo of pipe clay from Teignmouth to Sunderland, was stranded and lost in Cruden Bay, at Port Erroll on the 6th March 1881 during a force 10 gale. The crew were saved.
