Remains of World War II camp with only the footings of some huts now visible. The camp was one of three such camps (including NK05NE0021) associated with the airfield at Rattray (NK05NE0019). It was probably built at the same time as the airfield, between March 1943 and October 1944. The three camps had the capacity to house 363 officers, 1924 other ranks, 18 WRNS officers and 619 WRNS ratings. It was closed probably in 1946 at the same time as the airfield. The 1954 RAF aerial photograph shows most of the site has been cleared of upstanding buildings. A new development has been built over much of it since then.
