A wreck reportedly lies in this area. It was noted in April 1945. The site was examined on 5th-7th February 1986 by HMS BULLDOG at 57 47 14N, 001 59 27W. The 4-range trisponder gave NGR eastings 400550, northings 877470. Decca (n scot) red d 20.24, green c 45.31, purple f 53.63. The least echo sounder depth was 79.7 in a general depth of 81 metres. No scour pits were observed. The side scan sonar shadow indicated a height of 4.4 metres, and a length of 6.7 metres (22 feet). The object/vessel is lying with its keel orientated 000/180 degrees.
