Details Reputed site of the first tolbooth built in Peterhead. A tolbooth is mentioned in the feu contract of 1593, although it is not clear at what date this was erected, and was likely built between then and 1623. Traditionally, said to have stood at the corner of Brook Lane and Longate/. Following use as a plaque house in 1645 it was burnt down. Now no visible trace.
