Details Site of World War II Coastal battery. In 1940, two 6 inch guns were sited here, of Mk XIIB/IX type. Guns issued on 28/5/40 were Nos 2716, 2726. On 4/12/41 gun Nos 2726, 2812 were in place (info from Royal Artillery Library). By 1945 they were on care and maintenance only. Now completely demolished.
